Here's the garden. It is right behind the pond and the woods is behind it. Bryce and Audra entertained us by catching frogs. There were some croaking earlier and we could see them sitting on rocks. Bryce has one in the net. What fun for a kid to have a pond to investigate. The people who lived in the house before, kept the pond just so. These people let the kids play there and do all kinds of investigating and learning. They have Koi to feed and frogs to catch. Here are the two of them...checking out something. Their pond is responsible for so many different kinds of wildlife in our yard. We really benefit from it...with no work at all.
Audra in her hat. She came over while I was fixing dinner. She's really no bother at all. I looked in the living room and she had all the bears and monkeys out...lying in a circle around her. I saw her kissing my little Paddington bear and talking softly to him. There just happened to be a PBS special on the TV, while she was playing there. There was a scene where they had to kill a bear and she was sad about that. We talked about it a little bit. She said that she had learned that you should only kill what you are going to eat. That brought up stories about people who eat bear meat. Then they used a tranquilizer gun and put one to sleep. They put a tracking collar on this bear, so they could follow him. I could see the wheels turning in her head as she tried to figure that one out. She came out in the kitchen and visited while she ate some grapes. When our dinner was ready...we said our "See you later alligator" and she ran home. I really enjoy their visits...and their folks help us so many times with things that Joe can't do anymore. We appreciate good neighbors.

I think it is wonderful to see them learning to garden and playing in the pond. We had creeks nearby to explore when we were kids so I think the pond is a great place for them to explore and learn. What cute kids.
It is wonderful to have good neighbors! My neighbors came over and snowblowed my driveway for two months while my husband was recovering from broken ribs and shoulder injuries after falling from a ladder while removing ice from the roof.
We are lucky to have such nice neighbors!
sounds like nice neighbors. It is so nice to see the kids outside doing what kids shoud do.

Awwwww, what a fun childhood they are allowed. Some people have no contact with children and miss them so much. I am glad they have you and Joe for neighbors. (It works both ways, you know :)
