A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

A Girl's Best Friend

Mother's Day is over and now back to work. Some of you are going out to plant the flowers that your sons and daughters brought. Some are reading the gardening books that the kids thought you'd like. Some are still cleaning up the kitchen after the Mom's Day brunch. Me... I'm going out to the back 40 and use that gas powered weed wacker on all the bad stuff coming up in the woods. It is an endless job. I do it every week. I remember the first time my husband brought home a weed wacker. There it was all shiny and new. He was at work and I was alone with this tool that was going to change my life. I read the directions on it's operation and pulled the thingamabob. It wouldn't start. Did it again...same results. I must have worked on that sucker for an hour until it finally started up. I was already worn out. Out to the garden to do a little trimming. I decided to trim around some hostas. FWIP went the hosta. I didn't like that one anyway. I learned to keep it closer to the ground now. It destroyed everything in sight...it had been a dry year. the ground was dry. I made so much dust fly....you wouldn't believe it. My legs were covered with grass and dirt. I had things in my hair and between my teeth. The more I cut down the harder my finger was pushing on the trigger. I was learning though, and by the time my husband came home for lunch...I pretty much had it mastered. I put the red devil away for a bit and went in to fix him something to eat. I had to wash up first and it was then that I noticed that I couldn't lift my right arm over my head. I tried to brush my hair and couldn't manipulate a brush...my hand and arm were vibrating. I could have grated a head of cabbage in a minute. I couldn't carry a glass of milk to the table. This went on for quite a while, but finally stopped about the time I wanted to go back out and work some more. There was the red devil in the corner of the garage just waiting for me. I started it easier this time and I learned to rotate arms. Looking at the garden....some things were missing, but I knew that I had made a friend for life. This tool was going to really help me. Now, I know all the ins and outs of trimming...in fact I am really a pro. I can trim around a delicate violet. I can destroy a patch of dandelions in a second. I am going out now and do the job. We now have two of these monsters....his and hers.

So funny! I know what you mean by the vibrating arm! Have a great day in your arm.

I'm done and can hardly type this...my arm is vibrating.

This was so funny. I loved it! I know exactly what you are talking about with the vibrating arm. I usually have two when I come in from weedwhacking! They are great inventions though.

I need one of these for my woods.
But now could not use it. A few years ago I unloaded many loads of mulch out of my pickup - over the summer. Tore the muscle in my right arm. So I have a problem = that I caused. I remember when I went to the doctor he as asked "what in the world have you been doing".
