A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Wilson Bentley made the first photograph of a single snow crystal (what most people think of as a snowflake) in 1885. The self-educated Vermont farmer used a bellows camera attached to a microscope.
I heard a little rattling on the sky lights in our living room yesterday. The first snow of the year. Just a few pieces of sleet came down. It is a promise of what's to follow. Today, while shopping, I came out of the store and my face was pelted with snow. Just a little. It is going to freeze tonight and that will surely be the end of the flowers in the yard. We are almost ready for winter. The garage needs to be cleaned and rearranged and the rest of the lawn furniture has to be stored. I kind of like this season...looking forward to the cold weather. We can all take a deep breath, and sit and relax for a while...dreaming about our gardens next year. This morning I saw a Tufted Titmouse at the feeder. We don't see these often and I was excited. Such a pretty bird. I jumped up and filled the feeder, when he left....so he would come back. We are to have a warm-up later in the week, so this snow is just an early teaser.

I do not look forward to winter. I don't like it at all.

Hi Margie,
I used to love winter, but now I get tired of it right after Christmas.Last winter was really rough for us...mother nature couldn't do that to us again...could she?

We had a little sleet here yesterday, too, and it was in the twenties last night. I froze all day long. I hate cold weather but do like to get warm with a cup of tea, a blanket, and a good book. I can handle it as long as we don't have any ice storms.

I'm with you, Judy. We are in the 20's this morning with white frost on the lawn. It is supposed to warm up starting tomorrow. Now where's that tea?
