My Mom had lived and worked in Chicago after her Dad died so the city was familiar to her. There used to be a train that left from Davis Junction and stopped at every tiny town between there and Chicago. What fun to ride the train, eat in the dining car and spend the day strolling thru those wonderful stores.
MarnieRoses and Lilacshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07121676379580186489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1526821574480507893.post-42201146350882086832010-03-16T17:08:06.497-05:002010-03-16T17:08:06.497-05:00Wonderful memories. Love the little dog and that you have kept him all this time.

We are not going anywhere for spring break this week, although Friday we are treating the girls to a special lunch out and then we are going to walk around the indoor conservatory and ride a boat in Opryland Hotel here in Nashville (which is amazing and I take for granted). Last year we were lucky to do a nice trip to Florida but we need to save a bit.

It's nice to be reminded that we don't have to do anything elaborate with our children to create special memories!BlondeMomBlog (Jamie)https://www.blogger.com/profile/11678207937709971411noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1526821574480507893.post-86679279334217686562010-03-16T10:30:30.493-05:002010-03-16T10:30:30.493-05:00I was just thinking about how elaborate things hav...I was just thinking about how elaborate things have to be for a "fun" Spring Break today. Trying to give the kids wonderful memories for a lifetime. Back in the 50's "fun" was much simpler...and I remember everything about my Spring Breaks...they were wonderful.
BalishaBalishahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17298193443371503407noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1526821574480507893.post-74645433326756019002010-03-16T10:17:19.752-05:002010-03-16T10:17:19.752-05:00What a wonderful story.
