It is really neat though, that the 4th is still celebrated by so many with family picnics, neighborhood get-togethers, and lots of shared homemade dishes.garden girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13284047851881823280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1526821574480507893.post-56402453324544276772013-07-04T07:31:47.160-05:002013-07-04T07:31:47.160-05:00A wonderful article! :) Happy 4th to you :) A wonderful article! :) Happy 4th to you :) debra @ HOMESPUNhttp://www.thehomespun.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1526821574480507893.post-56669512784049829652013-07-03T16:04:39.102-05:002013-07-03T16:04:39.102-05:00Thank you for sharing your wonderful memories. I ...Thank you for sharing your wonderful memories. I was especially touched by the mention of men with tears in their eyes. My first memory of a 4th of July parade would have been in the mid 1960's and we lived in Rockland, Maine. I remember how exciting it was to see the American Legion Post come strolling by with flags waving. Special memories. <br />Blessings from Still Woods FarmhouseLife at Still Woodshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15083149165376149420noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1526821574480507893.post-9377005411845161332013-07-02T11:38:34.843-05:002013-07-02T11:38:34.843-05:00Very sweet post...Very sweet post...Pathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01503122932243836073noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1526821574480507893.post-45100101023402885032013-07-02T06:23:56.095-05:002013-07-02T06:23:56.095-05:00Yes, you did.

The kids don't just set them off on the 4th like they did when we were kids but now they start even before the 1st of the month.
